(Photo by Joe Robbins/Getty Images)Ohio State announced Tuesday morning that head coach Urban Meyer will be retiring after the Rose Bowl against Washington. While the news is surprising, there were rumors it was possible. Colin Cowherd even reported it a few weeks back.Meyer’s decision to retire is being pinned on his health – which may very well be the case. But when Cowherd reported what he says he knew, it was a little more complicated. Here’s what Cowherd had to say back on November 19:“Here we go. Two separate sources told me this weekend Urban Meyer is done after this year. He’s going to retire from football. There is a fissure between the administration there and Urban Meyer – he doesn’t always feel they’ve had his back. He’s not going to admit this. He’s going to say ‘this is ridiculous, I don’t know what you’re talking about.’ But you saw him on the sideline this weekend. He does not look good. Some people would say he’s acting – I don’t think he is.This is a guy that takes every loss personal. I’ve been told by two people that I trust way up the food chain Urban Meyer, after this year – could be after Michigan, after the Big Ten championship, after maybe they play a huge bowl – whatever it is, this is it.”Here’s the segment. Cowherd also tweeted today that he reported this a few weeks back.”Two separate sources told me this weekend Urban Meyer is done after this year.
