first_imgAIDAN McGeady will start Ireland’s friendly against Hungary on Monday ahead of James McClean as at least two Premiership clubs eye him up for a summer transfer. Both Sunderland’s Martin O’Neill, who managed the Glasgow-born winger with strong Gaoth Dobhair connections at Celtic, and new Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers (a mad Celtic fan) are considering a transfer move.Reports in the British papers say O’Neill is particularly keen on taking McGeady from Spartak Moscow. All that will be far from Aiden’s mind this week however as Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni confirmed the ex-Celt will start in the country’s first Euro 2012 clash against Croatia next Sunday.McGeady was named in the starting line-up for the Hungary friendly and Trapattoni said: “The team that starts against Hungary will be the same team that starts against Croatia, without problems at the last moment.”He added: “James (McClean) will be on the bench, with the others.”  LIVERPOOL AND SUNDERLAND EYE McGEADY AS STAR PIPS McCLEAN TO EURO START was last modified: June 3rd, 2012 by BrendaShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:LIVERPOOL AND SUNDERLAND EYE McGEADY AS STAR PIPS McCLEAN TO EURO STARTlast_img
