In August, Indiana’s rate was 3.5 percent, and the national rate was 3.9 percent.At this rate, we also continue to outrank our neighboring states, with Michigan at 4.1 percent, Illinois at 4.1 percent, Ohio at 4.6 percent, and Kentucky at 4.4 percent.Many counties in Senate District 42 also outrank our neighboring states. Former Gold Board accountant slapped with fraud charge

first_imgA former Guyana Gold Board (GGB) accountant was on Wednesday slapped with six counts of fraud and taken before city Magistrate Fabayo Azore at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.Rosannna RamnarineRosanna Ramnarine was allegedly fired in November 2017, after an audit of the GGB allegedly unearthed a major fraud involving herself and a clerk at the agency.The prosecution is contending that the 35-year-old former accountant defrauded the company of over $1 million between the period of February 1 and June 30, 2017.It was previously reported that the former accountant and her clerk during their alleged fraudulent activities documented that miners paid less money than they actually did to the Gold Board. They were sent home as the Special Organised Crime Unit (SOCU) was investigating the matter.On Wednesday, Ramnarine was released on $50,000 bail for each charge. She will return to court on July 23, 2018. As a condition of bail, the former accountant was ordered to lodge her passport with the court and report to SOCU’s headquarters every Friday until the conclusion of the matter.last_img read more
